Harley Quinn face paint
After watching the Suicide Squad trailer- I really wanted to test out a Harley Quinn look for Halloween.
I used snazaroo face paint: white, black, red, and blue.I started off by covering my face with white face paint, painted in both eyes black then added the red and blue and painted small thin lines to down my face. Lips are black extending the corners out to the sides of my face and added the small Harley Quinn heart tattoo. I painted my own version of a neck collar using the different card suits. After adding a blonde wig with pigtails you have a Harely Quinn face paint look from Suicide Squad!

Mermaid Makeup
Here's my blue and green mermaid makeup look! I used white and blue face paint from snazaroo and bright green face paint from deserres for painting the scales. I added gold shimmer powder from the body shop all over once the painting was done. To enhance my eyes I painted my eyelids up to my eyebrows in a darker blue, and then painted very light green and light blue scales on top. I also used black eyeliner and fake eyelashes - the bottom eyelashes I added some bright green paint on the very ends.

Candy Cane Cake Pops! DIY
I made these cake pops as a trial before Christmas (going to make fresh ones closer to Christmas) and they turned out great!
I used chocolate cake mix (easier), but then made my own icing for the inside. The icing recipe I got from here: http://www.52kitchenadventures.com/2011/12/05/peppermint-chocolate-cake-pops/ except I added an extra cup of icing sugar, and 1/8 teaspoon peppermint extract (I didn't have enough candy canes). I also found that this recipe made way too much icing- so I saved the leftover to make the cake pops again in 1 week.

DIY candy cane hot chocolate gifts
I saw these candy cane hot chocolate gifts being sold for $10.00 at the mall last week and so decided to make them myself as small Christmas gifts for extended family and friends. They're so easy to make- you just layer the hot chocolate, chocolate chips, crushed candy canes, and marshmallows. I couldn't find any triangular shaped bags, so I rolled rectangular ones and glued them into the same shape :)

Sugar Skull face paint
Decided I'd try out one more face paint before Halloween. Here is me painted as a sugar skull! I used the same face paint as before (white snazaroo face paint,
and the cheap face paint) as well as liquid black eyeliner. I didn't paint the sugar skull colourful like the typical ones you'd see, but instead added black lace.

Pixelated face paint
Face Painting time!! I love Halloween for this very reason.
Here is me painted pixelated. I also took some pictures in between to show the progression of the pixel painting.
I used white snazaroo face paint (Great quality and easy to work with), and cheap face paint from Walmart (okay quality - not very easy to work with though). I only ended up using one brush= an angled eyeliner brush.

Halloween DIY: creepy, broken china doll
My friend and I put a lot of work into this years halloween costume!! First we went to Value Village to buy bright doll like dresses (pretty sure they were old prom/ bridesmaid's dresses), bought a blank white mask from a costume store, long blonde wigs, white stockings, white gloves, and white face paint.
-We cut the eyes bigger in the mask, painted cracks, red lips, blush, eyeshadow/ eyeliner, and added fake eyelashes to the bottom and top of the eyes.
-We put the white stockings on and painted the joints using liquid black eyeliner.
-We used the white face paint to our arms and neck, and black eyeliner to paint the joints on our elbows.
- Both of our dresses came with a sash so it was used for the massive bow in our hair.
- We painted our eyelids/ around with black eyeliner so that when our eyes are closed (for pictures) they look hollow! and now you have a very creepy china doll :)

DIY - Christmas "for your mistle toes"
CNND9HCG7M8X -I got this idea from Pinterest and thought it was a cute gift for friends/ extended family. On Pinterest the "for your mistle toes" note was attached to the nail polish, but I liked the idea of putting it in a little clear plastic bag and finishing it off with a bow.

DIY - Birch Candles
At my parents cottage there was a fallen birch tree, so I gathered some of the wood and made these tea-light candle holders! First I used the mitre saw to cut the wood to a desired length, then used a drill with a 1 inch drill bit to make a hole at the top for the tea-light.

DIY - Christmas Flower Arrangement
DIY - Made 4 of these flower arrangements as house warming presents for Christmas 2011. I used small boxes from the dollar store that I lined with plastic so that the water doesn't leak through, oasis foam, red roses, white button mums, red spray carnations, spruce and cypress tree branches, pine cones that I spray painted gold, and red and gold small ornaments (found at the dollar store). I attached wire to the pine cones and hot glued wire to the ornaments so I could stick them into the oasis foam. The spruce and cypress branches and pine cones I found outside - why waste your money buying them when they're right outside ;)
