Painting - watercolours

I found these as I was organizing my room, they are small watercolours I made while in university. There are around 50 in total, and chose 7 to share! Each one is either a depiction of something that happened to me, someone I knew, or something that was said during a conversation that really stood out for me.

Skate Deck Design

For this project we had to create a skate deck design using vector and raster elements, brand our work, and use a "predator" theme.  The budget for this piece was $30.00 for the print.

Final Product!!!  :)

Used an old skate deck to mount mine onto.
Although the blue of the snake/ splatter in the background didn't print with the same colour intensity of how i originally wanted it, I think it still works, and turned out great!

Used this texture for the snake's skin

Painting I made, flipped it on its side, and vectorized it for the background

watercolour splatter I created for the background

Vector illustration took around 5 hours, then 1 hour or so to play around with the colours/gradients.

Paper Zoo - DMA project

The objective of this project is to create a "paper zoo" of six different biomes and the animals that inhabit those areas. In class we were divided into groups where each group was given the task to paint in watercolour a specific Biome that would represent the background of the final product.

We were given six animals that we're required to draw: Penguins, Bush baby, Lion, Squid, Desert Tortoise, and a Buffalo. We also had to choose six of our own, I chose: Arctic Hare, Toucan, Giraffe, Sea-horse, Snake, and a black tailed prairie dog. I chose these animals because they look very different from the required animals and they would be interesting to draw.

Here are my drawings:

Bush Baby
Toucan

Lion
Giraffe

Squid
Seahorse

Desert tortoise
Snake

Buffalo
Black tailed prairie dog

Penguins

Arctic hare

Here is the final product of the Paper Zoo using the backgrounds created in class and integrating my own drawings of the animals:
